British Columbia remains undefeated in women’s curling at the Canada Winter Games

Halifax, NS – British Columbia moves into first place of pool A with a win this morning over Team New Brunswick.  British Columbia opened the game with 3 points in the 1st end.  At the half way mark of the game BC had lengthened its lead to 4-1.  NB scored a single in 6th, stole the next two ends to tie and force the extra.  BC scored 2 in the extra end for the win.  The wins takes BC to a 4-0 record and drops NB to 1-3.

In other games, Team Nova Scotia started the morning off with a 3-0 record.  They were taking on Team Manitoba were still looking for their first win of this Games.   Manitoba seemed to control the game as Nova Scotia struggled with weight control.  NS tied the game in the 5th and then handed Manitoba 2 in the 6th.  They were able to score a single in the 7th but could not get their rocks into scoring position in the 8th.  The final score was 7-3 for Manitoba.  Nova Scotia moves to 3-1 and Manitoba 1-3.

In the final game of the morning the team from the Northwest Territories score a 4 ender in the 8th to inch by Team Saskatchewan by a score of 8-7.  The Northwest Territories moves to 2-2 and Saskatchewan 0-4.

Pool A resumes play Wednesday, February 16th at 2:30 pm.
