PEI and NWT Win Placement Games in Men’s Hockey

Prince Edward Island 6 — Newfoundland and Labrador 3

(Dartmouth, N.S.) Prince Edward Island wrapped up 9th place in men’s hockey at the Canada Winter Games with a 6-3 win over Newfoundland and Labrador.

Thomas Stavert had a hat trick and four point night for  P.E.I. while Evan Morrison also helped the winning cause with a four point effort.

P.E.I. avenged an earlier tournament loss to Newfoundland.

Northwest Territories 3—Yukon 2

(Halifax, N.S.) In a battle of the Territories, N.W.T. came out on top defeating the Yukon 3-2, it was their second tournament win over their rivals.

Jacob Schofield’s goal midway through period two would stand up as the game winner for N.W.T. who finish the tournament in 11th while the Yukon will place 12th.
