Quebec 5—Alberta 4 (Shootout)
(Halifax, N.S.) For the fourth time in five games, Quebec was in a shootout at the Canada Winter Games. They won their fourth straight shootout game by defeating Alberta 5-4.
Jonathan Drouin and Guilliaume Gauthier scored for Quebec in the shootout while Justin Vanier-Guénette netted a pair for the victors. Cole Benson had two goals offensively for Alberta.
Quebec will now move on to the gold medal game Friday night at the Metro Centre while Alberta will play for bronze Friday afternoon.
Manitoba 4 — Nova Scotia 1
(Dartmouth, N.S.) The hosts from Nova Scotia ran out of gas dropping a 4-1 decision against Manitoba in relegation place at the Dartmouth Sportsplex.
Remi Laurencelle led the way for Manitoba with a goal and an assist. Cole Murphy had the lone tally for Nova Scotia.
Both team will continue relegation round action on Friday as Manitoba will play for 5th place while Nova Scotia will play for 7th.
