British Columbia 0 – Saskatchewan 1

Dartmouth, N.S. – Kennedy Ottenbreit-Daunheimer(Grayson, Sask.) scored the sole goal of the game to help Saskatchewan edge fellow westerners British Columbia 1-0 on the final day of preliminary women’s hockey action Wednesday at the Sportsplex.

It took a period and a half for Ottenbreit-Daunheimer to find the back of the net, but in the end it was enough to give Saskatchewan another three points, for six in the standings total.

Saskatchewan kept the puck in the offensive end for much of the game, firing 37 shots at B.C. goaltender (Kimberly Newell, B.C.) over the course of the game, including 17 in the second period alone.

Quarterfinals take place Thursday, with the early and late games taking place at the Halifax Metro Centre and the two mid-day games on the other side of the harbour, at the Dartmouth Sportsplex.
