Local Favourite Pleases Fans on First Day of Boxing at 2011 Canada Games

This will be an exciting week at the CWG we have 67 boxers from all over Canada past their medical. This means that we will have a total of 58 bouts over a period of 5 days. Monday 12 bouts, Tuesday 15 bouts, Wednesday 12 bouts, Thursday 10 bouts and the finals on Friday with 9 bouts.

 The Boxing fans were not disappointed with the performance of local favourite 64kg Taylor Gordon from Halifax the son of former Olympian Wayne Gordon and grandson of former Canadian National Boxing Coach Taylor Gordon by winning his first bout 5 – 3 against Devin Retti from Alberta. Taylor will compete tomorrow night against Jeffrey Cuff from Newfoundland who also won his first bout against Julien Careneiro from Manitoba 9 – 3.

The Province of Quebec had a fantastic first day with 4 wins and one loss.
